Berkeley, in cooperation with Lambeth Council, is developing a Masterplan for the Oval and Kennington Development Area (OAKDA). This covers the Oval Gas Works and 16 surrounding parcels of land.
We have been consulting with the local community since January 2015 to understand your vision and aspirations for the area. After a series of workshops, 1:1 meetings and feedback sessions, we have created a first draft of the masterplan which underwent a 6 week community consultation from Wednesday 4th November to Wednesday 16th December.
Thank you to all those that provided their feedback during this time.
What happens next?
Following the draft masterplan consultation at the end of 2015, Berkeley have been working with Lambeth to collate and review all of the feedback received by the community. Following this process Berkeley and Lambeth agreed amendments to the proposals and revised the masterplan where appropriate, updates were provided to the community regarding the changes in April 2016.
The final iteration of the masterplan was presented to the community as an exhibition on Monday 18th July at the Kia Oval. The masterplan is also available online in the downloads section, here you can find the full masterplan document, exhibition boards and a summary document.
Lambeth has advised the masterplan will be presented for sign off by the Cabinet Member for Regeneration, Business and Culture. This report, which notes the Council's support for the principles of the Masterplan, will then be published on the Council's website in November.
